"Stop Drugs" campaign

The Subotica Community Assembly has joined the overeall fight against drug addiction among secondary school students, an issue becoming increasingly more public in Serbia in the last decade.

The representatives of the Community requested us to turn teenagers' attention to the issue by adequatly designed promotional material since they are inherently apt to lessen the problems surrounding them.

The fight against drug addiction is both a public as well as an individual task, particularly for those who have tried drugs and for those using them. Therefore, while thinking about the design of the accompanying promotional material for the campaign, we focused on how to draw the attention of the young and make them wonder. We knew that subtle solutions would not produce the right effect, so we opted for a slightly more aggressive approach. We chose a combination of clear symbols and contrasting colours and a dark shaded photo of an unfortunate girl.

Soon the secondary schools on the territory of Subotica Community were plastered with the warning posters; lectures on the harmfulness of drug use and action badges went together with the campaign. The interest for the project among secondary schools in the area was so high that the action was, after a short period, repeated again.
