NOVOLIN - Gist of Motion
On the one hand, the long tradition in lubricants production, its expert teams, and the quality production systems, on the other the changed requirements of domestic market consumers, contributed to the realization of the wishes of NIS - Novi Sad Oil Refinery to render their products available not only to the industrials but to individual consumers, as well.
Our task was to create a brand starting from a concept that had to take account of all aspects of NIS - Novi Sad Oil Refinery business policy and the expectations of consumers of similar products, and, in turn, to devise an appropriate brand name, its visual identity, and the product's packaging design.
The brand was based on the product's quality, production tradition and the aspiration to satisfy consumers' requirements maximally by product diversity. The brand's name was a portmanteau word coined from "novo" (Serbian for "new") and the prefix of Latin "linumoleum" (flax seed oil). "Motion" got crystallized as a specific association for lubricant oils, to be consequently transformed into the original graphic solution of the logotype. The slogan "Gist of Motion" has got imposed as the logical outcome of a creative process. The shape, style and the hues of the labels have been fitted to a defined packaging forming a wide spectrum of clearly distinguishable products.
"Novolin", the new brand has opened up completely new business opportunities for expansion and promotion of NIS - Novi Sad Oil Refinery business dealings and the further development of its customer relations. Modern packaging has become a means of successful rivalling competitors and the initiator of a brand's visual identity.
