Stories of success

Inspiration to living in the attic

VELUX has been the leading global producer of skylights for over 60 years with a distribution in more than 60 and production in 11 countries in the world, bringing daily light, fresh air, and inspiration into homes all over the globe. VELUX has become a synonym for top quality skylights and for advancing life qualities of residences.

On coming to the market of Serbia in 1997, the first task of VELUX was to introduce itself to experts and the public, and gradually to increase its market share. The image of the Slovenian skylights producers was still quite powerful and the idea of living in attic inarticulated in the conscience of potential buyers. Serbia being a country in transition represented new challenges year by year and VELUX had to cope with them in order to increase its sales and market share.

In the beginning the accent in marketing communication was placed on the introduction of the VELUX name and the explanation that it is a skylights manufacturer. Advertising, promotional materials, and activities organized for local dealers and authorized craftsmen were canalized to getting know the brand. With the quality of marketing communication we built the quality image of VELUX highlights.

Later, during years, in the promotion of the brand we introduced stories about and pictures of converted attics in this way offering inspiration and inducing a desire for turning attics into the most attractive parts of homes. With actions targeting a particular type of windows, auxilary equipment for skylights, and the replacement of old skylights with new, quality VELUX highlights we encouraged the increasing sale of VELUX products.

The long-term cooperation with VELUX sales team, as well as the careful planning of each promotional activity contributed to the effects that, not rarely, surpassed expectations of VELUX for Serbia. After five years VELUX won 75% of market share and has become the most successful highlight brand in Serbia.
